Wardha, April 12, 2024: In a collaborative effort to promote community health and well-being, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha, in association with Mahatma Gandhi Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya, Sawangi Meghe, organized a free health check-up camp at Zilla Parishad School in the village of Yelakeli on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 8 am to 12 pm.
The health camp included a diverse array of diagnostic services, spanning from blood pressure monitoring to diabetes screening and heart-related examinations, alongside eyes and ear-nose-throat check-ups. Additionally, a paediatrician was available to cater to the healthcare needs of children. Residents of Yelakeli and nearby areas, including Wardha, flocked to the camp to avail themselves of these vital healthcare services, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in addressing the healthcare needs of rural communities.
With more than 120 individuals availing the services in this camp, it stands as a shining example of the positive impact that collaborative efforts can have on enhancing community health and fostering a culture of service and compassion. As the institutions reflect on the success of the health camp, they look forward to future opportunities to serve and support the communities they are privileged to be a part of.
The success of the health check-up camp was attributed to the dedicated efforts of medical professionals from Mahatma Gandhi Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya, Sawangi Meghe. Dr. Chitravina Nibrad, Dr. Samata Sameskar, Dr. Piyush Pardekar, who were instrumental in conducting diagnostic tests, evaluating patients’ health parameters, and providing necessary medical interventions.
Mr. Vikas Ravekar, NSS Program officer at BIT, played a pivotal role in supervising and ensuring the smooth execution of the health camp. Under the guidance of Dr. Narendra Kanhe, Principal of BIT, Mr. Ravekar and his student team of NSS meticulously coordinated the logistics and operations of the event. Dr. Narendra Kanhe commended the efforts of the NSS unit and emphasized on the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
