Khushi Gajanan Deulkar, a third-year Civil Engineering student at Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha, has secured the 2nd prize in a state-level elocution competition organized by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere. The event, held on April 14, 2024, commemorating the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, saw Khushi’s compelling speech on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s advocacy for women empowerment.
Featuring a diverse range of topics, the competition attracted over 40 candidates from various colleges across the state. The competition conducted in two rounds, required participants to adhere to a speaking duration of at least 10 minutes and a maximum of 12 minutes. Khushi’s articulate presentation on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s contributions to women empowerment captivated both, the audience and the judging panel, earning her the 2nd prize along with a cash award of Rs. 3000/-, a memento and a certificate.
Khushi attributed her success in the competition to the guidance provided by Dr. Narendra Kanhe, Principal of BIT, who served as her mentor throughout the preparation process. Khushi’s achievement received commendation from Shri Sanjay Bhargava, Chairman of Shiksha Mandal, and faculty members. Her accomplishment serves as a source of inspiration for her peers and reflects BIT Wardha’s ethos of fostering holistic development and academic excellence among its students.
