BIT Wardha Joins Bajaj Auto’s Elite BEST (Bajaj Engineering Skills Training) Program

Bajaj Auto Ltd. for its flagship CSR skilling initiative is collaborating with the Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha to start its Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) centre, at the institute. This advanced skills training centre, aims at equipping engineering and diploma holders with contemporary and evolving manufacturing technology skills.

The MoU signing program was graced by prominent representatives from Bajaj Auto Ltd. (BAL), including Shri Chandraprakash Tripathi, Advisor, CSR, Shri Sudhakar Gudipati, Vice-President, CSR, Shri  V. Ramesh, Head Skilling. Shiksha Mandal’s President Shri Shekhar Bajaj, Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhargava and Dr. Narendra Kanhe, Principal of BIT represented  Shiksha Mandal. Also present were Mr. Sameer Nabar from BAL, BIT faculty and Principals of Shiksha Mandal colleges.

BIT Wardha is the first Institute in Vidarbha region to host a BEST centre.  The new centre will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and high-quality equipment sourced globally. The skilling centre will offer students the opportunity to work with industry level compatible equipment and software used in the manufacturing sector, giving them hands-on experience that closely mirrors real-world conditions thus bridging the gap between industry and academia. Bajaj Auto would be investing over Rs 15 Crores and setting up 16 Laboratories covering 18,000 sq. ft at BIT. It would start functioning from January 2025.

The BEST program features certification programs tailored for diploma and graduate students. It includes interdisciplinary learning modules and state-of-the-art equipment from global leaders that cover advanced topics such as Mechatronics, Motion Control & Sensor Technology, Robotics & Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Augmented and Virtual Reality, PLC, HMI, MES, and Industry 4.0. The curriculum is designed by senior engineers and experts from Bajaj Auto Ltd., ensuring industry relevance and practical applicability.

The program has 80% hands-on practical training, project-based learning, and sessions from industry experts and comes at a very reasonable cost. Upon successful completion, participants will receive joint certification from Bajaj Auto Ltd. and BIT, which would bear AICTE approval. Placement support will be provided by BIT to connect them with potential employers in manufacturing industry. The launch of the BEST centre is expected to significantly benefit students of BIT and engineering students in Vidarbha, particularly those studying Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Computer Engineering.

Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhargava on this occasion paid tribute to Late Shri Rahul Bajaj, whose vision and generosity made BIT possible. This initiative marks a significant step forward in bridging the gap between industry and academia, fostering innovation, and ensuring better job opportunities for students of the region.
