BIT Wardha Excels at AVISHKAR 2024-25 Zonal-Level Competition, Wins Multiple Awards

Wardha, December 1, 2024 – Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha, once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by securing 4 Gold (First Position), 2 Silver (Second Position), and 1 Bronze (Third Position) in AVISHKAR 2024-25. It is an inter-university research/project competition organized by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU). The event witnessed participation from over 200 projects across Vidarbha in the zonal level round of Vidarbha zone. With 12 projects representing the institute, BIT students showcased their innovation and technical expertise across multiple themes, earning widespread acclaim.
The competition included single round post college level selections. The participants presented their projects and solutions within 10 minutes in this round. Judging criteria included content, presentation skills, business model, and problem-solving abilities. The platform enabled students to exhibit their practical, research-driven solutions to contemporary issues in diverse themes such as Humanities, Commerce, Pure Science, Agriculture, Engineering and Medicine.

1. Pushkar Pisolkar (Computer Engineering, Third Year)
Category: Humanities, Languages, and Fine Arts (HLF) – Gold (First Position)
Project Title: Gamified IPR Platform
Abstract: Pushkar developed IPlay, a gamified platform that simplifies the understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) through interactive games and quizzes, making complex concepts fun and engaging for students.

2. Nital Sune (Civil Engineering, Final Year)
Category: Pure Sciences (PS) – Gold (First Position)
Project Title: Sustainable Resources Management
Abstract: Nital’s project focused on utilizing coal ash (fly ash and bottom ash) as replacements for cement and sand in concrete, ensuring sustainable construction practices without compromising strength or durability.

3. Aryan Buchunde (Mechanical Engineering, Final Year)
Category: Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (AAH) – Gold (First Position)
Project Title: Weed Detection and Precise Spraying
Abstract: Aryan developed an autonomous robot system that uses image recognition for precise weed detection and spraying, addressing the inefficiencies of traditional weed control methods and promoting sustainable farming.

4. Saurabh Borkar (Electrical Engineering, Final Year)
Category: Engineering and Technology (E&T) – Gold (First Position)
Project Title: Development of Non-Electric Solar Tracker
Abstract: Saurabh designed an eco-friendly solar panel tracking system powered by a water-clock mechanism. The innovative solution improves panel efficiency by 12-17% without using electricity, making it cost-effective and sustainable.

5. Akanksha Kawale (Computer Engineering, Third Year)
Category: Commerce, Management, and Law (CML) – Silver (Second Position)
Project Title: Nagrik Aur Samvidhan (Citizen & Constitution)
Abstract: Akanksha proposed a digital learning platform that educates citizens about the Indian Constitution through interactive games, fostering legal literacy and responsible citizenship.

6. Rakhi Badgujar (Civil Engineering, Final Year)
Category: Engineering and Technology (E&T) – Silver (Second Position)
Project Title: Stabilization of Black Cotton Soil Against Desiccation Cracking
Abstract: Rakhi’s project investigated the use of banana fibers to stabilize black cotton soil, reducing desiccation cracks and soil erosion while promoting sustainable geotechnical solutions.

7. Prajwal Choudhari (Computer Engineering, Final Year)
Category: Commerce, Management, and Law (CML) – Bronze (Third Position)
Project Title: Eco-Recycle: E-Waste Management Platform
Abstract: Prajwal developed Eco-Recycle, a unified platform that streamlines compliance with India’s E-Waste Management Policy 2022, enabling stakeholders like manufacturers and collection centers to meet regulations efficiently.

The success of BIT Wardha students was made possible through the dedicated mentorship of Dr. Jayesh Ruikar, Asst. Professor, Electrical Engineering, and Ms. Urvashi Pote, Asst. Professor, Computer Engineering, who coordinated the event preparations on behalf of the institute.

Chairman of Shiksha Mandal, Shri Sanjay Bhargava, congratulated the students for their achievements and emphasized BIT’s consistent performance in zonal and national-level competitions. He stated that such accomplishments highlight the institute’s commitment to practical, hands-on education, which prepares students to become industry-ready professionals.
