In a remarkable feat, Tanay Nakhale, an Electrical Engineering alumnus of Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), won the prestigious 1st Prize in the Poster Presentation Competition on Safe Mobility at the Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT) 2024. The event was organized by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) in collaboration with the Society of Automotive Engineers India.
SIAT EXPO 2024 the benchmark biennial event, witnessed participation from global automotive giants including Volvo, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, among others. It mostly showcased the latest products, technologies and innovations. Concurrently it also featured over 200 technical papers and keynotes presented by experts from around the world. The SIAT Expo and competition organized from 23rd Jan to 25th Jan 2024 invited participation in three categories – Safe Mobility, Intelligent Mobility and Sustainable Mobility. Tanay Nakhale’s exceptional project, which secured the 1st Prize in the Safe Mobility category, is an innovative concept of automatic adjustment of vehicle headlights from high beam (upper) to low beam (deeper) to avoid accidents. He commenced this project during the second year of Electrical Engineering at Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha. This project evolved under the guidance of Dr. Harshit Dalvi, HoD Electrical and Dr. Vijay Deshmukh, HoD First Year at BIT. The project has also received funding from the Government of Gujarat. Project guides have played a pivotal role in supporting and encouraging Tanay throughout the journey of developing the innovative Vehicle Headlights project. Tanay is placed in HotelKey India Pvt. Ltd., an IT firm through campus placements at BIT, Wardha. He has obtained special permission from the company to continue working on this college project funded by the Government of Gujarat. Principal of BIT, Dr. Narendra Kanhe congratulated Tanay and appreciated his efforts and consistency. “Tanay’s continuing college project is a testament to the cutting-edge research and development nurtured at BIT” he said, “We (BIT) nurture the future leaders in engineering and technology. It’s an impact of BIT’s research initiatives”. Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhargava also congratulated both Tanay and BIT. He appreciated the collaborative effort between student and faculty mentor that demonstrates the strong academic ecosystem at BIT and encouraged them to continue providing holistic education and support to the students.
