Students of Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha delivered an exceptional performance at the Zonal Level Avishkar 2025–26, securing a total of six medals — two Gold and four Silver — the highest medal tally by any participating institute in the Vidarbha zone. This round of Avishkar – an inter-university research and innovation competition organized annually by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), witnessed participation of over 200 innovative projects, with BIT showcasing 12 shortlisted projects from institute-level selections held in the month of November 2025.
BIT Wardha’s gold medal winners included Purva Anilrao Ingole in the Commerce, Management & Law category for her AI-Based IC Marking Defect Detection project, and Sanchita Kishor Kurwale in Engineering & Technology category for her Switch-Controlled Wrist Hand Orthosis for enhanced patient mobility. Silver medallists included Vaibhav Yashwant Jadhav in Humanities category for exploring the influence of AI on youth self-image, Sana Samir Hussain Sheikh in Commerce category as she proposed a Blockchain-Based Smart Forensic Evidence Locker, Sudarshan Sachin Mahalle in Agriculture & Animal Husbandryn category for presenting an innovative Self-Sorting Cotton Harvester, and Pranjal Ravindra Wanjari in Medicine & Pharmacy category as he developed an AI-driven system for Packaged Food Health-Risk Prediction.
The zonal event included a single presentation round, where students were evaluated on project content, presentation skills, business model, innovation, and problem-solving potential. This successful participation of students was guided by Dr. Jayesh D. Ruikar, Mr. Sandesh Jain, and Mrs. Urvashi Pote, whose dedicated mentorship played a key role in honing the students’ research skills and confidence.
Principal Dr. Narendra Kanhe congratulated the winners and stated that BIT Wardha’s top performance is a testament to the institute’s growing research culture and strong academic ecosystem that encourages innovation and practical problem-solving. Chairman of Shiksha Mandal, Shri Sanjay Bhargava, also appreciated the students for bringing honour to the institution and emphasized Shiksha Mandal’s continued commitment to supporting young innovators from Vidarbha.
