Wardha, June 21, 2026 – Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha, celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation of more than 150 students, faculty and staff members. The programme was organized by Department of Physical Education and Sports in collaboration with NSS Unit of BIT, following the International Yoga Day Protocol prescribed by the Government of India and was conducted under the global theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing.’
The program was held from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on the institute campus, where participants performed various Yogasan including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, along with Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, Bhramari and other Pranayama techniques. The mentors explained the significance, health benefits, and appropriate time and method of practicing these yogic exercises. The session was guided by Mr. Nitin Ghode, Sports Director, Mr. Santosh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. Vikas Ravekar, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering. A team of first-year students comprising Arnav Salve, Mrudul Lokhande, Suraj Singh, Astha Karode, and Srushti Revatkar demonstrated the yoga postures and breathing techniques, enabling participants to follow the protocol effectively.
The program focused on the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for maintaining health, reducing stress, and fostering overall well-being. The enthusiastic participation of students and staff reflected the institute’s commitment to promoting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The initiative received support and encouragement of Dr. Narendra Kanhe, Principal, BIT Wardha and Shri Sanjay Bhargava, Chairman, Shiksha Mandal, Wardha, who consistently encourage activities that contribute to the holistic development of students and staff. Along with faculty coordinators, student volunteers including Avni Joshi, Labhavi Kalokar, Bhavesh Nashine, Satchit Vaidhya, Om Dhamande, Sanika Potdukhe, Ankit Sahu, Shivank Ganjudde, Kajal Yadav, Shubhankar Gayar, Khushi Zile, Radha Thakur, Aishwarya Wankhede, Ayan Pathan, Anuj Jinnewar, Vaibhavi Aglave, Kartik Selukar, Samiksha More, Shravani Machale, Shashank Mishra, Anushka Paleriya, and Bhumika Kathane worked hard for the success of the event. The successful organization of the programme further reinforced BIT Wardha’s commitment to nurturing physical, mental, and emotional wellness among its stakeholders.
